Madea’s Big Happy Family

Tyler Perry, Bow Wow, Teyana Taylor, Lauren London, and Loretta Devine, all stars in the eleventh film in Tyler Perry’s film franchise Madea’s Big Happy Family which is about bringing a family back together with each family member dealing with their own problems by themselves.
“I would give it 9.5 stars out of 10,” says Deja, a Freshman attending Eastview High School. “I liked it a lot, and I think the reality in the movie and the truth behind the story made it fantastic.”  Madea's Big Happy Family was released on April 22, 2011. It opened with $25.8 million on its opening weekend, ranking #2 at the box office behind Rio 3D: The Movie.
Tyler Perry has been famous for his franchise such as Diary of a Mad Black Women, Madea’s Family Reunion, and the latest movie which is For Colored Girls featuring Janet Jackson and Loretta Devine and much more. As a black screenwriter, he has done a perfect job by making sure that his movies is funny and makes you want to laugh.
“I believe Tyler Perry’s movies are far more than just for African Americans. They are for everyone who loves humor.” says Brianna, a Junior at Eastview High School. “I like the movie; it was actually a really great movie. It has so many life lessons with all types of characters mashed into one family for the movie.”
The plot revolves around Shirley who has received word from Dr. Evans in the beginning of the film that her cancer has worsened. Shirley decides that she needs to bring the family together so she can tell them the bad news. But because of civil unrest within the family, they continue to cause problems before she can tell them about the news. Shirley and Aunt Bam seek Madea for further assistants, after her first planned-dinner ended with family rivalry. Along the way, Madea tries, with "tough love", to open the eyes of Shirley's children and grandchildren about the meaning of family and spending quality time with their loved ones. Doing so, family-secrets arise and tensions begin to flare out of control. When Shirley passes away, her children and grandchildren began to feel remorseful towards one-another and strengthening their love for each other.
But at the same time, while he makes sure that his movies are more humor the more he makes movies, he also makes us learn a life lesson in order to help ourselves become a better person. “To appreciate everything and everyone God put in your life because it could be taken away in a heartbeat.” stated Deja. “His movies show so many good lessons in life. Like, even though there are ups and downs in life, keep your head and keep pushing on and forward no matter what.” responded Brianna.
“I liked it a lot, and I think the reality in the movie and the truth behind the story made it fantastic.” said Deja, “Because Tyler Perry gives everyone life lessons through comedy in his movies.” Looks like Tyler Perry should keep up the good work with the surprising movies that he has been doing over the years and to not stop making movies no time soon. His work has been creating a wonderful impact and reputation towards whites, blacks, and other race in a positive way in his movies is a very a big A+ to me as a movie viewer.
Even though Tyler Perry has come out with his recently movie Madea’s Big Happy Family, some people have their favorite movies throughout his franchise of Madea. “My favorite movie is Diary of a Mad Black Women.” stated Deja. “Madea’s Big Happy Family is my favorite movie overall.” responded Brianna.
